The royal family which produced the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, on Thursday, disowned him.
The family denied any biological relationship with the sacked monarch.
Addressing the press in Osogbo, the head of Lakanye ruling house, Alhaji Ganiyu Adegoke, who commended the two rulings of the Osun State High Court which sacked Olanipekun, advised the monarch to vacate the stool.
“At this point, we want to make our position clear. The Lakanye Royal Family agrees with the two separate rulings of the Osun State High Court and we shall not be part of any act of illegality since the court has declared the stool of the Ataoja of Osogbo vacant.
“Lakanye royal family does not have any biological relationship with Mr. Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun as being rumoured, thus we dissociate our family from whatever action taken by Mr. Olanipekun as regards the ongoing crisis surrounding his installation and that anybody that relates with Mr Olanipekun on behalf of the family is a fake person,” Adegoke said.
He advised Mr Olanipekun to respect the ruling of the court by vacating the palace and desist from parading himself as the Ataoja.
The royal family urged Osun State governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola and the chairman of the state Council of Obas, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, to prevail on Mr Olanipekun to stop laying claim to the stool and urged Aregbesola to direct the police to evacuate him from the palace.

Dear Prince Aderopo
The judicial system that pronounced him NOT the rightful Ataoja as he cannot claim lineage to any known royal Houses seems upended as the guy continues to occupy Ataoja throne. A PDP-led state government caused the problem and it seems the political process may eventually need to be employed to get the judicial process moving.
Regards,
TOLA.
