JUMOKEs Easter Lilies 2013

As Christians celebrate the Resurrection of Christ today, may all humans, especially Nigerians who are always described as God-fearing, imbibe the spirit of the Christian season of putting away the Old Man – the devil – that seems to have taken over Nigeria in all facets of life so that Nigeria can rise from the depth of all that holds the country back.

A very Happy Easter to us all.

EASTER FACTOID [from 2008]

“Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox – which is March 20.  This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives.  And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early.  None of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228.  The last time it was this early was 1913, so you were only around for that one if you are 95 or older.

Check out my column from The Nation on Sunday, March 2008 reproduced on this blog a year ago:

By the way, the Easter Lilly above was from my garden 2013 Easter period which I gave a sister-in-law who then sent above picture of the beauty which she made more beautiful in a vase.  Thanks for the memory which lives on, Jums.  TOLA.

Tola Adenle, truly a modern heroine of Nigeria. I salute your relentless effort to justice and truth on Emotan Africana. Happy Easter.

A very Happy Easter to you and all yours, Dear Ronke. Nigeria must use all her available resources – human and material – if she’s to fight the scourge of parasites that continues to hold her down.

Thanks v. much for the generous words of encouragement, as always.

      Sincere regards,
