FIFA Ethics Court Bans Teflon Administrator, Sepp Blatter For 8 Years; Ditto his side-kick, Platini – Tola Adenle

December 21, 2015

He’s gone; they are both gone – at last, and not a moment too soon but years too late!

Sports lovers, especially football lovers, must have been wondering if the day would ever arrive. One day, Blatter would be “stepping down”, the next, he would be up at a podium making bombastic speeches that showed he would never budge unless forced out.

As he and Platini, who really believed he would be the next FIFA president are finally swept away, I am hoping, like many football followers around the world, that the wind that finally swept those two out, would hasten and sweep out many of Blatter’s fellow travellers/acolytes in football administration, including the acting FIFA President Issa Hayatou whose profuse sweating on a recent BBC interview is understandable, and the likes of Amos Adamu of Nigeria … all with corruption allegations/charges.

To borrow a Nigerian “English” cliche: “goodbye to bad rubbish”!

I know; there ain’t any GOOD rubbish, or is there? Pardon the ungrammatical “ain’t”;  found no more dismissive word.
