President Muhammadu Buhari, please ensure Nigeria’s brazenly & wickedly stolen money is returned – A Blog Visitor

February 5, 2016

In short. I support you 200%. No more second should be lost in recovering the looted funds. Such loot should be ploughed back into the economy to revamp urgently vital, destroyed sectors, especially education, health, power and roads.

All loot must be recovered – now, now, now!

Names of looters must be published with their photos. No more “names withheld” nonsense. Looters have disgraced themselves already by debasing themselves to the level of thieves; so they do not deserve protection from public disdain and ridicule.

President Muhammadu Buhari, please ensure by all means that Nigeria’s money stolen so brazenly and wickedly is returned to Nigeria.

Thank you.

  1. Fatai Bakare Says:

Not only should the money be returned by them and names published they must be sent to jail. The length of which should be according to the amount stolen. At least two years for every million stolen and should be barred froM politics and public offices and should never be given Presidential or State pardon for life.

      Dear Fatai,

How are you? Thanks for contributing to this issue of whether looters should be jailed or not.

I was among those who believed the thieves should be jailed and the keys thrown into the Lagos Lagoon but not even those of us who believed we knew how highly corrupt the system had become and clamored for Buhari to be president knew how bad and deep the cancer had grown. I re-blogged an essay from “aguntasoolo” – no ifs, no buts, people must go to jail” in President Buhari’s early days but the situation now calls for more than vengeance.

It is my belief that Nigeria’s need for the money in the possession of the thieves is so vast and a need for reconciliation so called for that a South Africa-type Truth and Reconciliation committee just need to get the thieves out in the open, have the. Confess to their sins, BAN THEM AND, POSSIBLY THEIR OFFSPRING FROM EVER HOLDING PUBLIC OFFICES AGAIN.

No, I’m not expecting the thieves to be allowed to stroll into the Truth … court dressed in starched and ironed to the nines guinea brocade or aso oke followed by a bs d a la Officer Bode George re-entry into Lagos after Kirikiri sentence for HAPPENINGS on his watch at the head of Nigerian Ports Authority. They should be driven in the so-called prison Black Maria, dressed in prison garb.

Before their appearances in the court, ALL looted funds PLUS PENALTY must have been paid, a system that would be aided by Nigerians stepping forward anonymously or otherwise, to list properties owned by the thieves which may have been hidden.

Your suggestion Is the best, but we need to collect our money and move Nigeria forward.

Imagine, a newspaper owner, the flashy Obaigbena, getting a share of Nigeria’s wealth to the tune of over N600m on a spurious COMPENSATION to various newspapers of which pidlings were confessed by a few!

      Sincere regards,
