Nigeria’s “Northern senators” throw gauntlet on rampaging herdsmen: Nigeria will cease to exist IF Fulani herdsmen asked to leave devastated communities!

May 8, 2016

“There would be no country called Nigeria, if Fulani herdsmen were asked to leave their community  and states …”! –

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, representing Nassarawa West in Nigeria’s Senate on behalf of a group describing itself as “Northern senators” has reportedly warned.

Perhaps with more confidence gained from backers, situation in Nigeria has reached a DARE as apparent drums of war sound louder. This time, though, it’s from as high a quarter as the National Assembly where a group describing itself as “Northern senators” has threatened an end to Nigeria unless Fulani herdsmen are given the laissez passez to kill, rape, injure and let their cattle run amok on farmlands in the South and, perhaps, in the Middle Belt where they’ve used the method to take over land and rule.

While I believe most Southerners would heave sighs of relieve with “bring it on”, the imminent danger is beyond the level of the usual Nigerian playing-it-safe by doing nothing.

It’s also reported in today’s papers how a Southeastern Governor’s entourage was stopped in its tracks by what & who else but Fulani herdsmen and their cows!

President Muhammadu Buhari, where are you?
